The interesting thing is that breathing underwater is often much easier than people expect.

Your instructor will encourage you to breathe exactly as you would on land—slowly, calmly, and comfortably.

Practising in Shallow Water

Before exploring the reef, you’ll spend a few minutes in shallow water.

You’ll also practise a few simple skills, such as clearing a small amount of water from your mask or recovering your regulator if it comes out of your mouth.

Your First Dive in the Red Sea

“I’m Nervous…” — You’re Not Alone

If you’re feeling nervous, you’re in very good company.

In fact, most first-time divers tell us they’re excited and nervous at the same time.

One thing we’ve noticed after introducing hundreds of people to scuba diving is that the biggest fear usually disappears within the first few minutes underwater.

Do You Need to Know How to Swim?

This is probably one of the most frequently asked questions.

The honest answer is:

You don’t need to be an excellent swimmer, but you do need to be comfortable in the water.

Discover Scuba Diving is not a swimming lesson. During the experience, you wear equipment that helps you float on the surface, and your instructor remains with you underwater.

However, being comfortable in the water makes the experience much more enjoyable. Before every program, your instructor will assess whether Discover Scuba Diving is suitable for you based on PADI standards and your comfort level.

What Is the Minimum Age?

According to PADI standards, children 10 years and older can participate in Discover Scuba Diving, provided they meet the program requirements and are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when required.

What If I Can’t Equalise My Ears?

The secret is taking your time.
